ETHICAL, PROFESSIONAL, UNFORGETABLE

BOW HUNTNG AFRICA WITH CHORONGA SAFARIS

BOW HUNTING

Choronga Safaris is internationally recognized as one of Africa’s elite bow-hunting outfitters. We are owned and operated by dedicated bow hunters with more than 40 years of combined archery experience in Africa.

Our South African properties are archery-only and exclusively operated by Choronga Safaris. The majority of bow hunting is conducted from professionally designed pit blinds overlooking natural waterholes, with an average shot distance of just 18 yards. These blinds are engineered to minimize scent, noise, and movement—putting you in the best possible position for success.

In other countries, bow hunting is conducted by walk-and-stalk, ambush, or temporary brush hides. These hunts are challenging, immersive, and extremely rewarding, and are best suited for experienced bow hunters seeking unique African species and advanced hunting opportunities.

Equipment selection is critical to a successful bow safari. Our team has tested countless setups and will guide you toward the optimal equipment for your specific hunt. The right setup can mean the difference between a once-in-a-lifetime experience and a frustrating hunt.

With a full-service bow shop, 24-hour shooting range, and highly experienced bow-hunting guides, we are prepared for any situation that may arise.  There is a major difference between an outfitter who offers bow hunting and one who specializes in it.

RIFLE HUNTING AFRICA WITH CHORONGA SAFARIS

RIFLE HUNTING

Rifle hunting with Choronga Safaris is a true African experience. Most hunts begin by cutting fresh tracks from a vehicle before transitioning to a stalk on foot. Some stalks last only minutes, while others may stretch for miles through thick bush and open terrain.

Hunting in Africa is as much about patience and awareness as it is marksmanship. Wind direction, sun angle, terrain, and animal behavior all play a role in how each stalk unfolds. Our Professional Hunters and trackers read the ground constantly—interpreting tracks, broken brush, and subtle signs that often go unnoticed. This teamwork and attention to detail are what turn a simple opportunity into a successful and ethical shot.

Nearly all shots are taken from shooting sticks, making preparation and practice essential. We strongly encourage all rifle hunters to become proficient shooting quickly and accurately from sticks before arriving.

Caliber and bullet selection are equally important. Our team will guide you toward the proper equipment based on the species and area you are hunting, ensuring ethical and effective results.

WHETHER THIS IS YOUR FIRST AFRICAN SAFARI OR YOUR TENTH, OUR EXPERIENCED STAFF WILL GUIDE YOU THROUGH EVERY ASPECT OF THE HUNT—FROM TRAVEL AND EQUIPMENT TO EXECUTION IN THE FIELD.
