Choronga Safaris is an American owned hunting company operating predominantly out of the Limpopo Province of South Africa. We also conduct specialized safaris out of Zambia & Zimbabwe. We cater for bow hunters and rifle hunters with bow hunting being our specialty. Being an American owned company offers you more security when booking your safari as most, if not all, financial transactions will happen in the US eliminating the need to travel with uncomfortable amounts of cash.
Our bow hunting blinds are situated around water holes where animals flock to throughout the day giving you multiple shot opportunities daily. The blinds are built, and positioned, to give you the best shot possible whether you are hunting with traditional equipment or a modern bow. You have the choice to hunt out of the blinds alone (the 2 hunter x 1 professional hunter daily rate) minimizing scent and noise factors, or you can choose to have a bow hunting professional hunter with you at all times. All of our staff are bow savvy and have years of bow hunting experience. Our shooting range is available 24 hours a day and our bow shop is always ready to sort out any problems you may encounter during your trip. These hunting areas are bow hunting only and were set up by bow hunters, for bow hunters.
Rifle hunting is conducted on nearby concessions and is mostly walk and stalk, or spot and stalk. You are accompanied by a highly qualified professional hunter and tracker each day. The average shots in this terrain are + 100 yards. The terrain is flat and resembles the South Texas brush country. Most of the rifle hunting areas are along the Limpopo river providing lush green vegetation for the game year round. This helps to sustain large numbers of animals throughout the year.
Whether hunting with stick and string, or a thunder stick, at the end of each day you will be able to relax around a warm camp fire. Here you can enjoy your favorite cocktail, beer, a glass of our extraordinary South African wines, or whatever catches your eye behind our fully stocked bar. Each night you will be treated to fine South African cuisine highlighted by the chef's choice of mouthwatering game meat from your hunt.
