Firearm Information:

In order to bring a firearm(s) into South Africa you must follow the procedure listed below. We at Choronga Safaris do not wait until you land in Africa to sort out your documentation. Instead, we make sure your permits are pre-approved, and issued, prior to your arrival so that when you land at OR Tambo International (Johannesburg) it is a painless, speedy, experience. In order to do this we have attached all of the files and documentation you will need to provide us.

Firearm Travel Warning: In our experience we absolutely DO NOT SUGGEST that any client travel through New York or Europe on their way to Africa with firearms. We have encountered numerous problems at New York airports including damaged cases, lost cases, and confiscated weapons for absolutely no reason. After speaking to the NRA and several Federal Firearm Dealers we have learned that these are not isolated incidents. In fact, they are very common. Europe poses its' own problems due to the varying firearm laws and unless you are very certain of the regulation we suggest staying away from these routes. London and Paris have also become notorious for the same problems as we have found going through New York.
